Beach Essentials

Tap tap.* Is this thing on? HIIII y’all!! I took a bit of a break from blogging over the past couple of weeks. I am just taking in ALL this summer has to offer, and enjoying time with my family. But I’ve missed you! How are things going in your world? I shared recently on Instagram that this has been the BUSIEST summer season for my kids that I believe we have ever had. All good things, school trips, vacations, sports camps, etc. In fact, I am typing this up and I have no children home. 2 of them left early with my parents to go to Florida, and 1 is at high school cheer camp. Once we pick her up from camp, we will be joining the rest of my family at the beach, and I canNOT wait! I wanted to share a few beach essentials that I am packing and taking with me on this trip!

snacks

The most important part of any trip is the FOOD, am I right?! I always pack my own coffee creamer (nutpods), and a few other non perishable snacks. Check out the reel below for my latest Amazon haul of snacks. I make it a point to visit the grocery store once arriving so that I can stock up on bagged salads, fresh fruit and veggies, and some easy protein options like pre-cooked chicken and lunch meat. I always share with my clients that I control what I can, and then let the rest go. Grabbing some food that I know will leave me feeling fueled well is important to me. But I won’t obsess over it all the time. I will definitely still enjoy “vaca life” with treats and food on the go, and feel no guilt. It’s called balance! (shop snacks here)

bags + what’s in the bag

The second most important item in my beach essentials list would be the BAGS. You have to get from point A to point B, without losing your sh** (metaphorically and actually). So you might as well haul it all in style! I have been LOVING this simply southern bag. We took it with us to the river, and it was so easy to load everything in it, and then easy to dump out and clean when we were done. I also picked up this cute little cooler to pack drinks and snacks in. Speaking of drinks, my brumate tumblers are the BEST for packing ice cold drinks into my bag, without fear that they will spill anywhere. A few smaller bags to hold sunscreen and other personal items completes my beach tote!

For the airport I like to keep my hands free, so a backpack and/or waist bag will come in handy. I will bring both, the smaller waist bag to keep my cards and license in for easy access, and then the backpack for my laptop, kindle, and probably more snacks. My kindle is also a must for reading on the plane and on the beach! I do my best reading on vaca. Something about having permission to just pause and relax.

clothes + shoes

Are you a minimal packer or an over packer? I would like to think I am somewhere in between. I want to pack enough OPTIONS but I still keep it simple. For the beach we spend the majority of the time in the water. So I take all the swim options. I also pack one outfit that I can workout in every day. And that workout also doubles as a *I can wear it all day* workout. A good sweatshirt is also a must! Those beach evenings can get windy and chilly quick. Shoes are simple and consist of either sandals or sneakers. Here’s a few of my fave outfits I am loving this summer! Rather than link every single one of these pics – you can head to my LTK profile where I have most of the items linked by picture! The swimsuits are not on LTK, but you can find them from the Blushing Brunette Boutique. FIND ME ON LIKETOKNOWIT

accessories

Michael Kohrs said it best, “accessories are the exclamation point of a woman’s outfit.” I am currently in a NEON phase and cannot get enough color in my life. Sharing some of my fave necklaces, and bracelets below.

I think that about covers it! This is what I am currently packing for our vacay. I am sure I will hit post, and then realize I left something out. HA! Do you have any favorites or beach essentials that you like to take? I would love to hear about them! Leave a comment on this post!
