First Trip…Ever!

John and I are currently sitting on an airplane, kidless. For what we realized is the first time…ever! That is right. We have never traveled anywhere outside of Texas with just the two of us.
Honeymoon? Non traditional. We took a trip to Cancun, Mexico 3 months after we got married, and it was with family. That was the last trip that was somewhat on our own.

Every trip within the past 12 years has been with the kids in tow. I love our family vacations, and I am already missing my kids. But I have to say, rolling through airport security without wrangling blankets and backpacks, and counting heads, and making sure we aren’t losing anyONE or anyTHING, was kind of a nice change of pace. We each rolled our own suitcases to the bag check. We walked through security with my one purse backpack on my back. Totally weird… 🙂

John texted some pictures to the kids from the plane, and my sweet Bub was the only one awake. He said he wished he could come up in the air and walk on the clouds.

I know they are in good hands with my parents, and they have an amazing beach vacation that is about to start, so I know they are going to have a blast. It doesn’t completely erase the mom guilt that tries to creep in when I think about leaving my babies behind.

I am looking forward to this time away though, and looking forward to some rare one on one time with my sweet husband. It will be a very busy few days as I attend our Younique convention. But I am thankful he is so supportive of my passion, and thankful we will get to spend a little of the downtime together.

This is my second Younique convention and I am even MORE excited for this year than I think I even was last year. Last year was the anticipation and the unknown. I was meeting ALL new people face to face for the first time. I was experiencing convention for the very first time, it was so much to take in. Fast forward exactly a year later. I am anxiously waiting to hug the necks of the beautiful women that I haven’t seen since last year. I am looking forward to meeting new ladies who have joined our team. I know a little bit of what to expect from convention, but know that the founders ALWAYS have some element of surprises for us. And at the risk of sounding materialistic, I am ready to go pick up my new Younique SWAG! Ahhh! They seriously spoil us with backpack, notebooks, pens, and free makeup. It is so much fun.

So, I will try to check back in as soon as I can, with some fun updates from convention. Until then, check out my Instagram page & stories — I am highlighting all of the updates on an ORLANDO tab!
Have a wonderful weekend!

P.S. Thank you JetBlue for the free WiFi so that I could get this post typed out! First time flying on this airline, and enjoying them so far!
