It’s Never Too Late For A Fresh Start

I look at the girl and the Facebook post on the left, and I hardly recognize her…

3 years ago I was addicted to sugary coffee drinks, face and skin constantly broken out, struggling with extra weight, struggling to keep up with a baby plus two older school aged kids, tired, and completely unmotivated. I knew something in my life needed to change but wasn’t sure what. I even went to a doctor to have hormones and blood work checked because I had never felt this OFF. I started taking some multi-vitamins, and mustered up the energy to join my local Fit4Mom group. I started working out regularly and found that I had an energy back that I hadn’t had in a long time. Working out was actually fun. Still, I knew I didn’t feel 100%. Exercise is only one piece of the puzzle, the nutrition side of things needed an overhaul. I had researched the Whole 30 program, and wanted to attempt it but I told myself I could NEVER give up my coffee creamers.

2017 VS 2019

I put it off for almost an entire year before finally deciding I wanted to give it a shot. 2 years ago I did my first whole 30 round and my life changed. As cliche as it sounds… My skin cleared up. My bloating was gone. I dropped 10 pounds. And my ENERGY was found. I no longer was dragging through my days. I’d drop the kids off to school and go work out, tackle my days, and not hit that afternoon slump. I learned so much in that year about how food affects the body.

Clean Eating Transformation

I continued to maintain a “mostly whole 30” lifestyle, eating gluten and dairy free, but also enjoying some corn tortilla tacos, gluten free breads, and sweets. This is the part that I found hard to maintain. My sweet tooth is strong. And the farther I get away from “whole 30” the easier it is to order a sweet tea, or grab that Red Bull or chocolate bar. I’m totally GOOD with unsweet tea, and I’m totally the weirdo that loves La Croix waters, but if I’m not “doing whole30 COMPLETELY” then what’s one sweet tea? Repeat x every day. Then you’ve “fallen off the wagon”, and suddenly your 10 pounds heavier and wondering how you got so off track again. About a month ago, I was scrolling Instagram one night and stumbled on the hashtag #FWTFL — It stood for Faster Way To Fat Loss. I hadn’t heard of it before but I suddenly got on a rabbit trail of searching the program, reading success story after story.

The program is designed to help you learn how to count your macros, teaches intermittent fasting, and on the nutrition side it focuses on eating WHOLE foods. No shakes to drink. No pills to take. Just teaching you how to use the foods God gave you, and eat them in a way that maximizes fat burning, and overall health. I loved the idea of it. I saw that the program had different opportunities for you, one being a participant, one being an affiliate (where you get paid commission on sharing the program with others), and also you could become a certified coach and get paid to lead your own accountability groups. I instantly thought, I could do that! The fundamentals of this program sound solid, if I like this program, I could totally see myself running my own group one day and helping others, for sure! WOAH there Tina, don’t get a head of yourself. Maybe you should just commit to TRYING the program first before you dream about leading your own group one day. So I debated. Back and forth. Am I going to try this or am I not?

I am the world’s biggest over thinker so I struggled with indecision for a few days before finally, I just decided to jump into a group with a coach whose round was starting the very next day. Talk about not wasting any time. A week into the program, I was completely loving the trainings, in love with the meal plans and grocery lists, in love with the at home workout videos that were provided. My coach mentioned that they would be opening up interviews for coaching slots soon, and while it was still early in our own round, if we were interested we should check it out. I signed up to get info on the next coach event, not realizing how quickly it would be coming up.

I started week 3 of the program and the coaching certification interviews opened. I thought to myself…”What! I know I love this program, but this is all happening so quickly! Is this really the path that I want to chase?” I am still a little scared about the unknown, but took the interview. Once the interview was over, I was still feeling butterflies in my stomach. “Could I actually do this? Lord is this a door you are opening for me? If it is not meant to be, please shut that door.” I guess I almost hoped they would send me a “I’m sorry” email, but instead the exact opposite. I am THRILLED to share that I was CHOSEN to continue on with the certification process!

I’ve felt a passion for this topic for a while, but unsure how to pursue it. My own insecurities get in the way sometimes, and my confidence is still growing in this topic. I can help a woman apply her eyeshadow all day, or help someone find the best Target deals no problem. But I always have a small feeling that I could be doing MORE. The feeling that I have a potential to impact peoples lives, and health, and well being. That’s a calling that seems daunting to me, but one that I am ready to tackle head on. Those who are close to me know how much I harp on healthy, whole food eating. I’m ready to share that same passion and enthusiasm with the world.  I am excited for the opportunity to impact MORE people through this program, through my social sites, and this website. I am not even finished with my own first round, but my results have already been enough. Enough to know that this program works, it’s simple to follow, and I want to share it with everyone I meet. And circling back around to the title and intro to this post. If you think that you could NEVER change your habits. Think you could NEVER do that. That you could NEVER give that up. I encourage you to reach out to me. I am living proof that it’s NEVER too late to make a better decision for your health and well being.
I am grateful for the opportunity to become your coach, and can’t wait to open my first round (aiming for the new year!!). Can I count on you to join me?
