Bacon + Caramelized Onion Crescent Rolls
Hi friends! Welcome to week 2 of the cooking show. This week we will be making some delicious bacon onion crescent rolls, great for a party appetizer! To make this recipe gluten free, I’m using Mom’s Place Crescent Roll Mix. Found here. You can also skip this step of making your own dough, if you want to just get a traditional crescent roll in the refrigerator section! Either way, this recipe is super simple and requires very minimal ingredients. Here’s how to make them!
Bacon + Caramelized Onion Crescent Rolls
Ingredients
- 1 package mom's place gluten free crescent roll mix
For the crescent roll mix you'll need
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 1/2 cup frozen butter
- 3/4 cup whole milk (or milk sub)
- 2 refrigerated eggs
For the filling you'll need
- 8 slices bacon
- 1 medium sized sweet onion
- butter for brushing on top
Instructions
- Finely chop bacon and onion, and cook together in a medium size pan. Bacon will get crispy, and onions will get a nice caramel color.
- Set aside your bacon and onions, and begin preparing the crescent roll dough. (follow package directions)
- Roll your crescent dough flat, and place about 1 tbsp of of bacon and onions and place in center of each crescent before rolling up.
- Roll all crescents with filling, brush with some melted butter, then bake in a 350 oven for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve and enjoy!

In full transparency, I could not figure out how to cut my crescent dough. 😅 I messed up the first time, but finally figured it out. ENJOY! I also decided to do an ASMR style video for this episode. As mentioned in the caption below, my kitchen was strangely QUIET. Normally I have Alexa blasting some music, the kids are in and out talking to me, or the dogs are barking. Real life, but not exactly ASMR material. 🙂 When I was editing the video, I found the sounds oddly satisfying, so I decided to leave them!
