Vida Magazine Release Party

Last night I had the pleasure of attending the Vida Magazine release party at the Brick @ Blue Star events venue. Myself and 6 other girls from the San Antonio Blogger Babes group attended the event together.

I was really impressed with the overall event, decorations, and eclectic vibe from the venue.
My first impressions upon arriving to the event location, was the fact that I was obsessed with the architecture and the character of the buildings in the area. The Southtown area of San Antonio boasts unique restaurants, a brewery, shopping, art exhibits, and the event center that we were located at.

Let’s talk about the reason WHY we were there. Vida Magazine release party!
Vida Magazine was founded on the idea that everyone should be free to be themselves. Breaking the norms, showcasing brands that are “chasing their own moonlight, and affecting the industry change right in their own backyards.” (SOURCE)
I love this message and concept, and love the fact that they seek out the “underdog”. As a creative at heart, I LOVE the fact that they are inspiring the creatives to be even more creative and think outside the box and the norms of society. I have never had the chance to attend a “traditional” fashion show, but I think this fashion show has set my standard a little bit high. I loved the energy, the interaction from the models, and the fun and playful vibe. I personally got to meet the two amazing women who started this magazine, Blair & Samantha, and they were completely down to earth, bubbly, and so welcoming to everyone I saw them speaking with, myself included.

There were quite a few sponsors and companies that went into making this huge event a success.

Mystic Quarry based in Canyon Lake, TX provided the camping set up. They put the GLAM in glamping.
Avant Agency provided the models and talent of the runway.
Bloom Salon & Studio created the stunning hair looks on all of the models.
Smackerel provided an amazing tray of snacks and food for us to enjoy.
Brock Mackenzie provided some music for the runway show.
Mesmerize Art provided a really fun photo room with black light, neon set ups, and fun props to take pictures with. (An instagrammer’s dream!)
Suspend Your Belief was set up with an aerial acrobatic show for entertainment.
SAS Shoemakers provided all of the shoes for the fashion show.
And finally, People’s Revolt, a public relations and digital marketing company, who has been collaborating with Vida for over 5 months to create the whole entire experience for the night.

Overall it was SUCH a fun evening, and I loved that this was the first event I got to attend as an official San Antonio Blogger Babe. 🙂 The girls that I met were so sweet, and we had such a fun time together.

Congrats again to VIDA Magazine, and thank you again for having us. 🙂
