BBX Check In
June has flown by. In a fast, yet slow way. If that makes ANY sense.
I ended May strong with my workouts. We ended strong with school. Ended strong with the extracurriculars. So once June hit? A slight step back and resting period from that crazy hustle of May. I have slept in more than I care to admit, I’ve not been consistent with structured workouts. I stay active of course chasing 3 kiddos, but doing a dedicated workout time – I’ve taken a small rest. I feel like mentally I needed it.
Today, however, I felt ready to jump back in with my BBX challenge. As some of you who may have been following my fitness journey before, know that I was doing Christmas Abbott’s 40 day challenge. The 40 day kickstart is part of a total 100 day challenge. At the end of the 40 days I felt ready to move on to finish the 100. After a small-ish (ok one month) break… I’m jumping back in! I laughed when I opened up my journal and my app to the day that I left off on.
Die. Hard.
Endurance circuit.
With your choice of these options. 🤯
Maybe this is why I took a break. I got to this day and said hold up. Ok, maybe not today. Haha.
I texted my friend who also holds me accountable to these workouts and she told me “nothing like jumping back into the saddle!” 🤪
I started my run this evening and thought, there is NO way I am going to make it the whole 6 miles. No. Way. I’ll do 3. .That’s my comfort zone, I know I can reach 3.
I ran my way to 3 miles, was still feeling good, and thought, maybe I can make it to 4. Made it all the way to 4.5 and thought wow, I can make it to 5. THAT will be my new goal. Made it to 5 miles and thought to myself, REALLY?! You’re going to quit with 1 mile to go? Heck no. So I did it. 6 miles down. I was so caught up in just finishing my goal at hand that I didn’t even realize what I truly accomplished. I finished Day 44 of BBX yes, but also, I haven’t run that far since high school… It feels great to push myself past what I think is possible. Your body can do the work – it’s your mind that takes the convincing.
What is it in your mind that you are telling yourself you can’t do? Get out of your OWN way and make it happen.
