A Whitening Solution For Sensitive Teeth + Giveaway

The first thing I notice about someone is their smile. Do you agree? As a beauty & fashion influencer, the spotlight is often right up in my business, square on my face. About 90% of my photos on Instagram, and on my blog, are focused solely on my face, so keeping my smile white and bright is very important to me.
On the other hand though, I am also a busy mom, slightly sleep deprived, and addicted to coffee. Do you see a bit of a conflict here? It is completely true that your teeth absorb colors from food and drink, especially the dark ones. So how do you combat that? I am SO excited to share with you my NEW favorite solution, and the FIRST teeth whitening system that did not cause me extreme sensitivity.
Let me start with sharing a little bit about the company. Smile Brilliant is a company that was created by dental professionals with over 30 years of experience. They spent most of those years creating the custom trays to be used to whiten at the dentist’s office, and after seeing how much time the patients were spending going back and forth from dentist back to home, they decided to come up with a system that is exactly what you can expect from a dentist’s office, right in the comfort of your own home.

Initial Process:
Smile Brilliant will send you a box complete with whitening gel, desensitizing gel, and all of the materials to create your own custom fitted trays. They also send COMPLETE instructions, and have many resources online available to help you through this first process. I was so nervous that I would screw it up, that I actually procrastinated a little bit in doing it. (Any other personalities match mine?) Once I finally gained my courage to make them, I felt silly for dreading it. Creating the trays and sending them off in the prepaid label was a breeze.

I have a toddler that I stay at home with, plus two older kids in school and sports, so my “free” time is limited. I loved that I could get a dentist quality set, without having to leave my house.
After the molds are received by the lab, they create the trays and then ship them back to you. Once you receive your custom trays you are ready to WHITEN! I was pleasantly surprised by how lightweight the trays were, and they were a PERFECT fit for my teeth.

The Whitening Process:
When I was ready to start this stage of whitening process, I was the MOST nervous (even more so than when I had to make my trays, haha). I have tried a popular whitening strips brand before, and while they DID whiten my teeth, the actual application was troublesome. I had extreme sensitivity afterwards, the strips did not stay in place on my teeth, it almost felt like I couldn’t move, or breath, much less talk with them in my mouth. Plus I had tons of gel that ended up all over my mouth, not exactly the most pleasant taste.
Still, I was committed to this process, no time to back out now.
I squeezed out a thin strip of gel on the front part of the trays, and slid the trays on my teeth. So far so good. No globs of gel in my mouth. The trays stayed in place. I almost forgot I was wearing them at one point. Ok Smile Brilliant, you have increasingly won me over at this point. Still, I was worried about what would happen AFTER I removed the trays and rinsed with water. This was usually the tell tale point for me in previous whitening experiences. As soon as the water hit my teeth I was shocked.
No. Sensitivity.
None. Treatment after treatment, every night for 2 weeks I whitened my teeth for one hour. NO SENSITIVITY. I am not yelling at you. But I am just sharing with how EXCITED I was to find something that worked, and DIDN’T KILL me in the process.

The Results:
Overall, I am extremely happy with my experience with this company, and will continue to use them for routine whitening maintenance on my teeth. (They also have toothbrushes and night guards that I am going to be checking out!)

I am not a professional at this, and cannot guarantee MY results for everyone. BUT I know that out of all the methods that are out there for whitening your teeth, this process has been the easiest. You get control over how long you wear your trays (1-3 hours/day recommended), the length of treatment (7-14 days recommended initially and once every 3 or 4 months to maintain later), time of day (I wore at night right before bed so that I wouldn’t eat anything right afterwards that could stain them), and I loved the fact that should I have had an sensitivity issues, they send you some gel to combat that side effect. I also love that I have plenty of whitening gel left over and can save my syringes for a time when I am ready to touch up. (Each syringe contains 3-4 full applications.)
