Pumpkin Peanut Brittle & Why It Reminds Me Of Home
My sense of smell is directly tied to my memory bank. A smell can bring me back to a moment, a place, or specific event. Today, I was setting up a centerpiece for my table, to celebrate the beginning of FALL, and I lit my favorite candle. This weekend I snagged the world’s yummiest candle, and the one I look forward to coming out every fall season: Bath & Body Works Pumpkin Peanut Brittle.
The name does not do the candle justice. It is heavenly. Bath & Body Works describes it as {Crunchy Caramel Brittle, Salty Peanuts, Toasted Pumpkin Seeds with Essential Oils}, do you not just want to eat it up right now?!
Aside from it smelling so amazing, I love this candle for the memories that it brings to me. One year ago, we closed on our current house. It was a whirlwind of a week, (you can read that post here), and because we were going to be moving into our house at the start of fall, I was so anxious to get some fall related items for my porch, and a candle for the kitchen island. Priorities.
We didn’t have any furniture in the house, but I lit that candle and it filled the empty house with it’s amazing aroma. Moving furniture in, I had the candle going. Unpacking boxes, I had the candle going. Spending our first night in the house, I lit the candle on the mantle and sat in our quiet house, taking in all that had happened during the previous weeks. I burned it down until there was nothing left. Then I got sad because you couldn’t get the candle anymore once they switch to winter/Christmas scents.
So when Bath & Body Works released their fall candles I have been stalking them for this particular scent. Each time I have gone, there hasn’t been a big one available. So when I saw this one in stock this weekend, I was ready to snag it up. I love having a candle on my kitchen table, and/or on my bar in the kitchen above my kitchen sink. The kitchen/dining area is where I spend a lot of my time, and where we spend a lot of time as a family. Along with the candle, I spruced up a little greenery that I had from Ikea, and added some floral stems that I found at Hobby Lobby. I love repurposing items in my home to fit the season! When fall is over I can just take out the floral stems, and boom, back to an evergreen decoration.
I’d love to hear from you, do certain smells or scents bring back memories for you? Share in the comments! Have a lovely day.

Excellent read, I just passed this onto a colleague who was doing some research on that. And he actually bought me lunch as I found it for him smile Therefore let me rephrase that: Thanks for lunch! “He who walks in another’s tracks leaves no footprints.” by Joan Brannon.
