The New Kid In Town

There’s a new kid in town. Her name is You•ology Protecting Veil. I am very intrigued by her name, her description, and what she’s made of.
All silliness aside though, yesterday we received word that a brand NEW product was launching with Younique. Today we are launching an addition to our skincare line, the “SPF 30 Protecting Veil”.

There is a lot of buzz and excitement revolving this new product launch, and I wanted to share with you what makes it so special. First of all. It is a broad spectrum sunscreen that is going to protect your skin from the harmful rays of the sun. It blocks both UVA & UVB rays. But what does that exactly mean? UVA are the rays that age your skin. UVB are the rays that burn your skin. Just remember A = age B = burn. Even on a cloudy day, the UVA rays are still out! This product helps protect yourself everyday from unnecessary aging as well as the long term damage caused by burning. BOOM. We could mic drop right at that moment and end this blog post, because let’s face it, sunscreen is MAJORLY important. 🎤
Still… even with the knowledge of the harmful effects of the sun, a lot of us don’t use sunscreen at all, or won’t use it on our face because it is greasy or heavy, or we don’t because we are just plain lazy about it. Out of 15 of my friends that I polled, here were some of the results on a sunscreen quiz.
40% faithfully used sunscreen on their face every.single.day.
40% used sunscreen when they were going to be going out in the sun, but not an everyday thing.
20% responded that they did not care to use sunscreen, nor felt they had time or energy to apply it.
I typically fall into the second category. If I am going to be “going out” into the sun, I will put sunscreen on. But I honestly have not found a type that I love that doesn’t leave me feeling oily, greasy, or just gross.
Which is why I am so excited by the description of this new product. It is formulated with coffee (hello, sign me up), bitter orange, and rosemary extracts to leave your skin feeling soft. (Praise hands) It has a lightweight texture that will not leave you feeling greasy or sticky. (More praise hands) And it is lightly scented with a subtle and fresh fragrance. The unique formula provides protection from harmful rays, while also working to moisturize and combat dull, dry skin. (ALL THE PRAISE HANDS) Those are ALL key points that I could get behind!
